Responsible For An Item Upgrader Budget? 12 Ways To Spend Your Money
World of Warcraft Item Upgrades Item upgrades can be used to boost the stats of a particular item. Depending on the upgrade type it could increase an item's Mark Level or Rarity, and also boost other stats. Each item has a track for upgrading it. Each upgrade increases the cost of the next one by a certain amount. Item Level When an item gets upgraded, its base stats improve in value. The value is the sum of all of its upgraded benefits (attack magic attack, attack defense). Upgrades can be costly, depending on who you hire and what you decide to do. This is due to the sheer number of perks that must be altered to upgrade an item. The level of an item is a commonly used measurement of power and can be seen on all item tooltips. It is also used as a gating requirement while queueing for dungeons, scenarios, and raids, as well as to limit the amount of PvP gear players can wear (since PvP is capped at the lower levels). The average level of an item is listed on the character sheet. Utilizing the level of an item can help players compare the potency of gear when they decide to buy or sell. It's a useful indicator of an item's quality and the amount of damage it will be able to deal. Comparing items from a vendor's stock can be done using the item level. On PC, you are able to view the item level by pressing ALT or by using the left stick on XB1 or PS4. This will display the complete description of the item, including its level. It can also be found by hovering an item with the mouse cursor, and then typing /itemlevel into chat. There are many theories about how the level of an item is determined. One theory is that the item level is a number that comes from a formula which calculates the amount an item's stats are worth. It takes into consideration that different perks are valued differently, and that gems in sockets increase the value of the item. This process can result in a calculated amount for the item's ilvl which is usually quite close to the actual Blizzard level of the item. This is not the only thing that affects the level of an item. The level of the area where the item dropped can also alter its stats. For instance it can add a level to the item's haste, or crit rating. This means that items dropped at higher levels will have more the ilvl than items from lower level instances. Item Stats Item stats can make or break an item for players. The game uses a lot of them in different ways to encourage players to play with multiple weapons, and prevent one weapon from being “the best.” The stats of a base weapon are enhanced by the weapon's stat modifications that are in turn increased by the player's skill. The upgrades to items add by increasing certain stats on the item. The cost of upgrades is determined by the rarity of the item. For instance, a gray or white item can only be upgraded once, while an item with the rare tiers can be upgraded many times with higher prices. Affixes are a different method to change an item's stats. They are stat boosters that can be added by the player to an item. The affixes can do things like give the item extra damage, or give a specific capability to the item (such as reviving the dead or decreasing the cooldowns), or make the item unique by putting an additional name to the item. All affixes can be currently re-rolled by selecting them in the upgrade window, and pressing the green button. This will cost a specific amount in gold and other items. They can also be used as upgrade gauges as with other methods of rerolling. Players can upgrade an item by specific stats or reroll affixes. The possible stat ranges of an item are based on the level of the item, but every item is guaranteed to have at least one stat within that range, unless it's an exclusive item or the result of a God roll from a boss of a raid. Another thing that could change is the option to upgrade equipment without having to roll the affixes, or choose which stats to increase. Like the base equipment, this must be done per item and the item comparison interface wouldn't display all possible stats at once. Item Luck The Luck stat for a player adds up to increase the chances of item discoveries and the properties that are spawned from loot drops, and the intensity of the properties. However, it does not directly affect damage or the ability to upgrade item s. It merely gives the player a possibility to obtain better equipment in earlier waves and is thus more valuable in early game runs than later ones because most players value greater weapon scaling and defense over the raw damage gain. In addition to influencing item discovery, Luck also increases the chances of success when upgrading items using the Blacksmith. This isn't to be confused with the Blacksmith’s overall upgrade chances, which increase with each level of the item. They can also be increased with the use of anti-materials, such as the Scroll of Strength and a Jewel of Blessing. Armor, shields and weapons come with a default Luck value of 40. These items can be enhanced by golden ingots, spined leather or oak boards (depending on the type of material used) to give +40 Luck or to boost the existing Luck of an item up to 140. Certain items, such as the weapon that is infused with hollow can also be crafted to increase the damage dealt by any skill that deals damage by 5%. These items are available in the shop or crafted using the right ingredients. Item Failure Not all upgrades are successful. However, there are some cash shop items that allow players to increase their chances of success or even prevent themselves from losing an item if the upgrade fails. The success rate of an upgrade is displayed in the Honing UI. The percentage represents the probability of successfully upgrading that item and it can be increased by adding Additional Materials or Special Materials. The percentage of success can only be increased by so much, and the likelihood that an upgrade will fail can't exceed 100%.. The performance of an upgrades is also influenced by the Luck of that item. Every item has an average success rate of 25 percent, and each item that has Luck increases the chance of success by 5%. Note that item upgrades are rendered above the items in the inventory which means that enchantment glints and other effects may be obscured by the overlays. If you wish to disable the upgrade overlays, the config option decoration.renderUpgradeOverlays can be set to False in the Item Upgrader CORE client config.
